Living It Up in Jamaica
Jamaica is the ultimate getaway for relaxation in a paradise with lots of hidden treasures. For outdoor adventures and hideaways in Jamaica, visit YS Falls, Black River, the Blue Mountains, Hellshire Hills, Treasure Beach, the safari of Ocho Rios, and botanical gardens. Jamaica is also abound with history and culture. Visit the Appleton rum estate, the National Gallery, the Bob Marley Museum, the Devon House, William Grant Park, coffee plantations, and various performing arts events and festivals in Jamaica. Go to Negril, Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios, the finest cities that Jamaica offers, and indulge in the taste of Jamaica by feasting in heavenly local bars and restaurants. For great humor, good times, and an abundance of beauty, compose Jamaica your Caribbean destination.

Lazing at YS Falls
One highlight in Jamaica that you don’t want to miss is YS Falls, home to the YS farm and the incredible YS Falls. The farm is one of the largest in Jamaica at 2300-acres, with pedigree red poll cattle and papaya. The YS Falls is a approved play land in Jamaica, with an awesome series of ten waterfalls that offer a wonderland of water fun. Either climb the lower falls or use the stairway to reach a platform beside the highest and grandest waterfall in Jamaica. There you can swing from hanging ropes, bathe in pools under each fall, swim under the main falls, and explore the caves behind. This is one of most relaxing vacation highlights in Jamaica: maintain the soothing falls, laze in the grass, soak in nature’s waters.

Boating on Shadowy River
Another favorite highlight in Jamaica is traveling to Black River for a boat safari. The Black River is 44 miles and Jamaica’s longest river, its name derived from the peat moss that lines the bottom of the river and makes the clear water look inky black. The river is the main source for the Gigantic Morass of Jamaica, which is a 125-square-mile dwelling of wetland. The wetland spreads north and west from Black River, providing a swampy abode for Jamaica’s surviving crocodiles, as well as diverse and spectacular bird life. The wetlands of Jamaica provide glimpses into magnificent mangrove swamps with roosting egrets, herons, ducks, and jacanas, all birds native to Jamaica. Relax, sit aid, and ride the Black River of Jamaica for a day of quiet delight.

Tasting the Rum
This getaway wets your whistle with one of Jamaica’s finest products — rum from the Appleton rum estate. Close to the YS Falls, the Appleton’s Wray and Nephewrum estate in Jamaica occupies a gargantuan setting in the Shadowy River valley, amid sugarcane fields that spread for thousands of acres. This vacation highlight is one of Jamaica’s oldest, with the estate dating 250 years as the oldest producer of rum in the English-speaking Caribbean. Begin your tour with a drink on the house, tour the factory, and slouch outside to an old press. Your tour ends in one of the best-known saloons in Jamaica, as it should, where you can kick back and taste seventeen types of Jamaican rum and different rum-based liquors.

Visiting the National Gallery
Into the arts? Then you definitely want to visit the National Gallery on the waterfront in Kingston, Jamaica. This is the main gallery of Jamaica, and its gracious permanent collection ranges from delicate woodcarvings to royal religious paintings, showcasing the best contemporary art in Jamaica. Works that you can view at this notorious Jamaican vacation highlight include the abstract paintings of Carl Abrahams, Colin Garland’s Jamaican surrealism, and David Boxer’s ghostly images. Other displays acquaint you with other artists in Jamaica, such as the Larry Worth Collection, with African-style paintings and sculpture by Shepherd Mallica “Kapo” Reynolds, and the A.D. Scott Collection, with selections of Edna Manley’s sculptures. This vacation highlight in Jamaica allows you to truly gain yourself in the colors and history of the culture.

Hiking the Blue Mountains
If you enjoy immersing in nature’s beauty, then you will want to hike in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica. The Blue Mountains approach above 7,000 feet, the collected country roads leading to misty forests and mountain trails. At this grand vacation highlight in Jamaica, you can experience the Rio Grande Valley’s lush beauty throughout the John Crow Mountains. Travel on paths that parallel some of the most beautiful streams and bamboo forests in Jamaica. You can climb Jamaica’s mountainsides, graze through fern-laden valley floors, search for hidden caves, and discover secret waterfalls. If you take a guided tour, you will learn to indulge in the incredible nature, culture, and heritage that Jamaica offers. Hikes include journeys to the pleasing Cinchona gardens of Jamaica and a climb up the peak waddle.

Counting Cacti in Hellshire Hills
Hellshire Hills is a getaway that is just southwest of Kingston, Jamaica. There you will rep a desert-like expanse of makko thorn bushes, and beaches sheltered by towering Jamaican cacti. The primary beauty of this vacation highlight in Jamaica comes from its solitary peacefulness. The only inhabitants within this expanse are migrant birds, conies, and Jamaican iguanas, which once were near the brink of extinction. At Hellshire beach you can kick serve and enjoy pristine waters protected by a barrier reef, then grasp a stroll and eat in some of the finest fish restaurants in Jamaica. The most delectable aspect of Hellshire Hills, Jamaica, is fried fish served with homemade vinegary pepper sauce — another island specialty. Ready your taste buds and order an extra mammoth plate.

Musing at the Bob Marley Museum
You can’t miss the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston, Jamaica, if you are a reggae fan. This was Marley’s home in Jamaica from 1975 until 1981, when he died from cancer. The hour-long guided tour gives you a chance to check out awards and concert memorabilia from one of the premier musicians in the history of Jamaica. You’ll also find a re-creation of Marley’s small shack-like Wail ‘n’ Soul record shop in Trench Town, Jamaica, Marley’s kitchen and bedroom, his stage outfits, and the room in which he was almost assassinated. This vacation highlight in Jamaica ends in the theatre that was the Tuff Gong recording studio. There you can view the 1980 “One Treasure” concert footage, interviews with Marley, and a obliging photo gallery. This is Jamaica’s tribute to Marley.

Daydreaming at the Devon House
The Devon House is another highlight in Kingston, Jamaica. Built by the first black millionaire in Jamaica, building contractor George Stiebel, the Devon House is a sight to see. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1820, Stiebel accumulated his fortune by mining gold in Venezuela, and he then returned home in 1873 to buy properties throughout Jamaica. One of these properties was Devon Pen, where he built his house. The Jamaican government bought the house in 1967, decorating it with antiques, to include modern Jamaican reproductions. Take a leisurely stroll on the stout landscaped grounds during your stay in Jamaica, and partake in some of the goodies of Jamaica, such as heavenly homemade ice cream, gooey cakes, and Kingston’s best patties.

Touring the Safari
If you want to visit the wilds that range over Ocho Rios, Jamaica, then take a jeep tour. This spot of Jamaica is known for its lush vegetation, mountainous slopes, clear streams, and breathtaking waterfalls. The tour delivers you to hidden waterfalls in the backlands of Jamaica in English Range Rovers. Take time to swim in some of the most secluded water holes in Jamaica, your only companions the hummingbirds and bougainvillea that are abundant in this part of Jamaica. Explore some of the history of Jamaica by visiting the ruins of an 18th century plantation that was destroyed in the slave rebellions of Jamaica. Your tour finishes with a smooth inner-tube ride in a calm but swift stream, allowing you to absorb Jamaica’s simple beauty.

Basking in Botanical Garden Beauty
While in Kingston, Jamaica, visit Castleton Gardens. The entrance of Castleton Gardens is surrounded by giant palm trees, some that tower more than 100 feet. This is probably the best garden in Jamaica and affords you the opportunity to linger amidst exquisite and unusual flower plants, such as Bemoua, Allemanda, and Shell Ginger. Explore the tapestry of vegetation in Jamaica — Pininga Palms, with colorful seeds that look like strings of hanging beads; the dainty pink flowers of Musianda trees; Poinsettia trees with bright red leaves; and Cannonball trees that boast flowers that look like perfect wax roses. This prize garden in Jamaica lets you own the distinct tropic beauty that you will inspect throughout your journeys over Jamaica and to learn a bit about it.

Sipping at the Coffee Plantations and Estates
If you haven’t had a cup of Jamaica’s coffee, you have no idea what you are missing. For a taste of java history, visit the coffee plantations and estates of Jamaica. With over 1,000 acres, Sherwood Forest, Jamaica, is one of the largest original Blue Mountain coffee plantations still intact in Jamaica. This Jamaican plantation has been growing coffee since the unhurried 1700’s. Sherwood’s coffee plantings are dispersed in tree-shaded valleys that benefit from the seasonal springs and cool night breezes of Jamaica. The jewel of Sherwood Forest is referred to as Big Level, a magnificent 100-acre sloping area at 4,400 feet. With its rich red volcanic soil and the cold mists that drift off Blue Mountain peak, Big Level produces the highest quality coffee in Jamaica. Take a tour and then have a cup of Jamaica’s best.

Meandering in Montego Bay
On the northwest glide of Jamaica, Montego Bay is a complete resort area with flowering trees, velvet meadows, and hills with palm trees that edge the turquoise sea and white beaches of Jamaica. Montego Bay, Jamaica, is the country’s premier tourist destination and the second largest city in Jamaica. The city offers a multitude of activities, including the top golf course in Jamaica and the world, scuba diving, fishing charters, sailing, and shopping. You can visit the historic plantation Great Houses of Jamaica at Rose Hall and Greenwood, or you can feed by hand the hummingbirds and grassquits at the Rocklands Bird Feeding Station in Anchovy, Jamaica. Montego Bay, Jamaica, harbors some of Jamaica’s most scenic, elegant, and romantic dining, so you can have a day of adventure and a night of good eating.

Nesting in Negril
In Negril, Jamaica, a startling white-sand beach stretches along the Caribbean for nearly seven miles. This is one of the most mellow and charming resort towns in Jamaica, with sleepy tropical charm, sun, and solitude. Spend your time taking peaceful walks over the white powder sand, swimming or snorkeling in aquamarine waters, and talking to the Jamaican locals at the craft markets and beach bars. For a day of leisurely activity, you can take a horseback ride to the ruins of Whitehall Mammoth House or a boat ride to Booby Cay, Jamaica, the breeding dwelling for the rare blue-footed booby bird. Because of its coral reefs and clear waters, this section of Jamaica is also a diver’s paradise with endless water sports. Visit Negril to nest with the most relaxed people on Jamaica!

Ogling in Ocho Rios
That’s exactly what you’ll be doing when you visit Ocho Rios, Jamaica, home to some of the most captivating landscape in Jamaica. On this north coast region of Jamaica, you can examine upon fern-covered cliffs and magnificent waterfalls. Ocho Rios, Jamaica, is a composed area that combines popular ports-of-call with splendid scenery — a string of dazzling blue bays, tiny fishing villages, and sandy coves that attract swimmers and sunbathers. Dunn’s River Falls, one of the most current natural attractions in Jamaica, is also in Ocho Rios. The falls is a dramatic 600-foot drop of cascading water, often called the Niagara Falls of Jamaica. Climb up its limestone tiers for one of the grandest views in Jamaica and witness why Ocho Rios is often a favorite among tourists to Jamaica. The eye candy it offers is sweeter than sweet.

Golf just happens to be among the most popular activities for men. Any gift related to golf is sure to be a hit. Listed below are 5 gift items related to golf, which are a valuable addition to anyone’s golf bag.

1. Slazenger Golf Ball Holder – A golf ball holder is definitely unnecessary, but it’s also something that most people don’t have in their golf bag, hence it makes for a great gift. Especially when it costs only about $12! The Slazenger golf ball holder is a very stylist aluminum case (which serves as a water bottle) featuring a three-pronged black rotating plastic clip on top that holds the ball. It comes with an equally stylish nylon wrapping. I think it would hardly be used much on the golf course but if nothing it makes for a great prove piece to display that autographed golf ball.

2. Distance Gauge – The Slazenger golf range finder sure is a nice tool to have handy on the course. This telescopic plan shows the range in meters or yards and has powerful magnification as well. At $25 I can’t imagine why everyone doesn’t carry one of these! Like all Slazenger products it comes with a very nice carry case.

3. Miniature Desktop Golf Green – this makes for a very cute gift which one can explain on their office desk. It’s a miniature golf green complete with a sand bunk and miniature golf clubs. Its sizable white flag, signaling the 18th hole, is sure to attract attention.

4. Tee-logic tool gauge: A tee gauge is not only for experts looking to fetch the most of their swing. It’s inexpensive and, these days, comes bundled with other useful features like on a key chain or as a flashlight. The tee-logic one comes as both and at $ 15 is an inexpensive practical gift.

5. Golf Carry Bag – transporting your golf clubs can be a nightmare. The probability of damage is very high and those soft club head covers do very little to protect. Go for a fat body cover Golf Bag. These fit the entire club within it leaving enough wiggle room and cushion on top to protect your clubs from even the most brutal fall. These typically cost 20% more than standard golf bags, but its sure worth it. Makes for a very thoughtful gift.

The Equinox Resort in Manchester, Vermont was established in 1769 and has offered a beautiful retreat to travelers for over 200 years. The historic resort is said to be haunted by ghosts, one of which may be the spirit of Mary Todd Lincoln. The Colonial Inn is a New England Landmark.

Ghost Stories

Two housekeepers encountered a spirits while they were cleaning the two story high Green Mountain Suite. The housekeepers made the beds on the first floor and then split up to do the upstairs beds. When the housekeepers returned downstairs, They found that the blankets and pillows had been ripped off of the beds they had just made and blankets had been thrown around the room. The identity of this ghost is a mystery.

Mary Todd Lincoln and her children spent two summers at the Equinox to escape the summer heat of Washington D.C. The Lincoln family planned to return for the summer of 1865, but the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln changed their plans.

The President’s son, Robert Todd Lincoln purchased the estate, named Hilene, next to the Equinox Resort. Lincoln family descendants lived in Hildene until 1975.

Employees at the hotel have reported seeing images of a woman and child on the third floor of Hildene. The images of the woman and child have appeared similar to Mary Todd Lincoln and one of her sons. It is possible that the ghosts are trying to recapture the happy, carefree summers that they spent at the Equinox.

History of The Equinox in Manchester Village, Vermont

When the First Lady, Mary Todd Lincoln, spent the summer of 1863 at the resort, The Equinox got a reputation as a “premier summer resort.”The hotel guest list has included renowned personalities such as Mary Todd Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, William Howard Taft, Benjamin Harrison and Theodore Roosevelt. Revolutionaries Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain boys gathered at the inn to talk about independence

The Equinox was listed in the National Register of Historic Places. At the time the hotel was closed down, shuttered and dilapidated. It took years of careful planning and an extensive restoration. In 1985 the resort reopened year around.

Equinox Resort Associates purchased the inn in 1991. The inn has been revitalized and modernized. The Equinox is situated on 1,300 acres between the Green and Taconic Mountains. The luxury resort has been a retreat for over 200 years. The modern Vermont landmark consists of 17 separate buildings in six different architectural styles.

Amenities and attractions at the resort include The Gleneagles Golf Course, the 1769 March Tavern, Charles Orvis Inn and three restaurants. . The spa offers rejuvenating, healthful treatments.

Manchester Village Hotel Resort holds the AAA Four Diamond rating. Travel and Leisure Magazine has called the hotel one of the “500 Greatest Hotels in the World.” Conde Nast Traveler has named the resort one of the “Top Five ski accommodations in North America.”

Equinox Resort is a New England getaway, located 146 miles from Hartford, Connecticut; 189 miles from Boston, Massachusetts and 204 miles from New York City.

I don’t always play the same local golf course every time I play golf. The reason is that the South Seattle area has quite a number of really terrific and affordable local golf courses. Here is a list of my favorite South Seattle Golf courses and an explanation about what makes them a challenge worth exploring.

South Seattle Local Golf Course with the Most Uphill Cardio Benefits

West Seattle Golf Course [ http://www.seattlegolf.com/west-seattle.php ] is a local course with the second best view, this one takes in down town Seattle and Elliott Bay. The golf course winds back and forth along a hillside in West Seattle and if walked, you’re sure to improve your overall physical condition. It also has old chestnut trees well loved by the squirrels. The golf course mascot comes from the red fox occasionally spotted on the grounds. The snack shop has pretty good sandwiches and the usual hotdog, muffin treats. The most challenging holes are the par four fourth hole that travels uphill and is quite long, the par five twelfth hole that crosses a creek, travels downhill steeply, then ends on the top of another hill, and the par three thirteenth hole that crosses a deep gulch. Volunteers are rewarded with play privileges and tee times for this local course may be reserved online at [http://premiergolf.e-golf.net/play/eg_home.show_form ]

South Seattle Local Golf Course with Varied Fairway Lies and Hazard Mix

Auburn Golf Course recently underwent reconstruction of many of their fairways, greens, and tee boxes which makes them very nice to play. A new clubhouse was also built. I haven’t tried the new restaurant but it is often full. The par three sixteenth hole is this local golf course’s signature hole, where golfers drive over the lake with the sideline out of bound woods onto a narrow green backed by a picturesque fountain. The gardens are often in bloom and it happens to be one of the few places where you can find a wood duck in place. The golf course climbs up about 300 ft on the eleventh hole [making it tough for some elderly to walk], then continues above until the fifteenth. The deepest sand pit on any local course is found on the seventh hole. The good variety of fairway lies and obliging mix of hazards are key feature of this popular and older South Seattle golf course. Tee time information for this local golf course is available at [http://www.auburngolf.org/Page3136.aspx ]

South Seattle Local Golf Course with the Most Water Hazards and Best Practice Facility

Sumner Meadows [http://www.golfsumnermeadows.com/ ] is often my well-liked local golf course to lose balls into the many wetlands left intact. Surrounded on the seventh and eighth hole by the Green River, with ponds on many of the other holes, water provides some peeks at local ducks and coyote babies last year. The pros are very helpful about explaining flag placement and how to select the proper tee for your game. Recent additions of several more outhouses have improved many players disposition. A natural green driving green, sand pit practice position and putting green form this a great local golf course to practice your game. The miniature snack shop keeps the hunger away. Make your tee times for this South Seattle golf course at [http://www.golfsumnermeadows.com/ ]

South Seattle Local Golf Course with the Trickiest Short Game

If you need a mental challenge for getting out of really tricky lies, Olson Manor golf course is a substantial choice. With only nine holes, you can try to improve your results on a second or third round. Each of the holes has its own tricky challenge, from mogul hills, dog leg into a lake, downhill over deep rough. Most of the holes provide little challenge for the long distance golfer. Instead, golfers must focus on selecting the best golf club for the distance. A few snacks are available at Olson Manor, along with a pool and accommodations. No matter which hole you choose you’re bound to learn something new about your game at this local golf course. Invent your tee times for this South Seattle Golf Course at [ http://www.olsonmansion.com/sites/courses/layout12.asp? id=454&page=13801]

Whatever reason you have for escaping the office and the work piling up at home to play golf on a local South Seattle golf course, this list of golf course reviews will help you pick the course that will get you into top invent.

The Lower Huron Metropark in Unusual Boston, Michigan is home to a glowing par 3 golf course both well-maintained and current. The longest hole is only 110 yards with the shortest being a mere 50 yards. Each hole has a mat comparable to that which one would find when hitting balls at the driving range. The course offers a challenging round of golf because fairways are non existent. If one fails to find the green with his/her tee shot, the next will be played from the rough. The course penalizes the individual for failing to reach the green, but certainly rewards the one that finds it. It certainly provides a test for one’s patience considering that if a ball barely rolls off of the green, it settles in the rough.

The layout forces the golfer to be precise with his/her distance control. To compound the challenge of absent fairways, most greens are quite small. Most notably, the 4th and 14th holes have exceptionally small greens. More than any other holes on the course, these two require absolute precision in regard to distance control. Currently, there are no bunkers on the course. A river encompasses the 18-hole layout, but does not pose a important threat. In other words, the golfer does not have to hit over water at any point. Although the course looks rather easy, it certainly poses a number of challenges.

This course is certainly unique because most golfers only need a few clubs to play. Personally, I play with a pitching wedge and a putter. At no point in the round am I able to rob a full swing. It challenges to me to display solid distance control, which is certainly easier said than done. Trajectory is also something that I have to consider often. My natural ball flight is from correct to left. The course actually favors one who shapes the ball from left to right. Many of the trees on the course come into play, often penalizing high shots that approach the green along the right-hand side of the hole. Low ball flight is often the smart play, but that also makes it more difficult to support the ball on the green. High, soft shots that the hit the green will stay on the putting surface more often than not. Those that come in with low trajectory must land short of the green to have a chance to stay. Golf is certainly a game of patience, skill, and noble decision making. This par 3 has, and always will, require each of those virtues.

Golf is a wonderful game and I have spent many happy hours playing on my local golf course. But there seems to be something creeping into the game, more and more, which often spoils a round of golf for many players and that is, slow play. Golf surely should be a relaxing game, not a stressful one, but on occasion there are players that do test the patients of a saint.

In my experience, slow play is not so bad in itself, as long as you can keep engaging along, it’s the lesser of the two evils, but when there are long hold ups, this in my view is not acceptable. Having said that, I do realise that things happen on the golf course that are genuinely unavoidable, but in this instance I am talking generally.

I’m sure people do not play golf slowly intentionally, and appear to be totally unaware of what they are doing or should I say not doing. So, to benefit players honest be a little bit more aware of what they and others are doing on the golf course, I thought I would just write a few helpful golf tips on avoiding slow play and to having a more enjoyable and hopefully a more attractive score card in the club house afterwards.

Start the day relaxed

The first tip is not really concerning slow play, but more about starting your golf day in the right scheme. When you get up in the morning do it slowly and then try doing everything slowly and relaxed, until you reach the first tee, this will hopefully reflect in a positive diagram on the golf course.

Get to the golf course early

Give yourself plenty of time travelling to the golf course, its better to be waiting in the club house than waiting in a traffic jam worrying that you’re going to be late. There’s nothing worse for a game of golf than arriving behind, then rushing around trying to catch up. This can put you in totally the wrong frame of mind, for achieving a relaxing game and low scoring round of golf.

Getting organised when teeing off

When by the tee, fabricate determined that every body in your group knows, in which order they are teeing off, and be ready. Make sure you have your apt tees and ball about your person. Don’t go rummaging about in the bag for golf balls and tees when people are waiting for you to tee off. It is also a good idea to keep a couple of balls in your pocket at all times.

Playing your shot out of turn

When players in a group hit their golf balls to various parts of the golf course, unless you are playing in a competition, it might be quicker for you to take the next shot in the wrong order of play.

Clearing the green early

If you have just finished your putts, don’t stand around on the green talking about the putt you should have holed. Certain the green straight away then talk about it on the arrangement to the next tee.

Take your clubs with you

If you have hit a wayward shot, don’t forget to catch your golf trolley everywhere you go, but only where it’s physically possible that is, I have been guilty of this one myself. When looking for your golf ball after hitting a abominable shot there is a tendency to forget about the trolley whilst you are trying to earn the ball. Then once you have found it, the realisation hits you that your clubs are some distance away, so it’s a stride back to the trolley, bring the trolley back to the ball, select a club and take the shot. This is not good.

Being prepared to take your shot

Whilst your playing partner is taking his shot, if possible, make sure you have already selected the club you are going to consume for the next shot and you have a fare understanding of where you would like it to go. It doesn’t sound much of a time saver but over the 18 holes and playing a four ball, it adds up.

Keep the scorecard up to date

Give yourself plenty of time to mark the scorecard; don’t leave it until it’s your turn to tee off. Try to find into a routine; otherwise you will end up asking your playing partners two or three holes further on, what they scored on the 6th, 7th and 8th hole. You will not be very popular.

Help your playing partners

If one of your group is having a pickle in any way, providing you have already taken your shot, go and help, rather than just standing there waiting.

Eating and drinking on the golf course

Its always a trustworthy idea to take plenty of water and some snacks with you onto the golf course, but please don’t be tempted to stop and have a bite to eat when there’s a chance it might hold up play. Try to eat snacks on the move, if possible, and perhaps take a drink whilst waiting at the tee.

Carry spares and be prepared for bad weather

Execute sure, everything in the golf bag is in order and ready to use and is easy to come by at, for example, water proofs, gloves, hat etc just in case the weather changes. You don’t want to be fumbling around in your bag, when all your friends came well prepared and organised. And they are all waiting for you to capture your shot. It’s not a bad idea to carry spares such as, a golf glove, laces, pitch mark repairer, pencil or pen, plenty of balls and so on.

Letting players play through

This is an obvious one for most golfers. If your group is having problems, lost ball etc, and you anticipate a long wait, please ask the group that are playing behind you, to play through. This of course depends on whether you are in, or just tedious a competition.

Hitting the golf ball straight

I know this tip is going to sound a bit cheeky, but it is really meant in the best possible way. This could help in preventing some hold ups on the golf course. When learning the game or just trying to improve. I wonder if it would be better to concentrate on hitting the ball straight, rather than trying to hit it out of ogle. It’s amazing, the amount of golfers I have noticed, hitting the ball a long way, but can’t hit it straight. If you are a high handicap player, try slowing down your swing and you will keep the ball on the fairway more often, whilst the big hitters are looking for their balls in the woods.

I have noticed over the years that the vast majority of written golf instruction, especially magazines, try to teach you everything about golf, except how to hit the ball straight.

I hope the above tips are helpful and interesting.

Location and Phone: 8501 International Drive Orlando, Florida 32819 | 407-352-7378

Rating: 4 out of 5

Summary: Pirate’s Cove is a fun adventure for the entire family. It’s affordable and provides a great time for all. You are greeted by friendly ducks that live at the cove – you’re even able to feed them for a 25cent fee.

When you come at the counter you will be asked to determine your course (these range in price from $9.95-$13.95 per adult and $8.95-$12.50 for children). The courses are as follows:

Captain’s Course: This is an easier course, worthy for beginners and young children.

Blackbeard’s Challenge: This course offers more challenge and is 18 holes. Along the course you can enjoy reading the history of Blackbeard and his crew of pirates.

36-Hole Adventure: This is a combination of the courses and is great for those wanting to commence simple, and work their way up into the tougher challenges. The course is slightly higher in ticket, but recommended to those who want to spend a longer time on the course. It will take you up hills, through caves, and over the streaming blue water.

Pirate’s Cove has been voted “Best in Florida” for slight golf by Orlando Magazine. Although there are many different attractions (which include other miniature golf courses), this one sets itself apart from the rest with very reasonable pricing and entertainment. The lush topical feeling will set the mood for a great time that won’

Pros: The overall theme is excellent here, from the moment you arrive and through the entire course you’ll be surrounded by flowing water of the cove, pirates, and a shipwreck. To add a little spice to the course there is even a cave with a short animatronics scene.

The challenge on the Blackbeard’s course is expansive with many unique shots to obtain. From hills to drop offs, you’ll find it all. There are even trick shots to take a shot for a hole in one.

Cons: There is one hole on this course that was poorly laid out. The idea of it is very neat and creative – however, the turnout was poorly thought out. There is a section which has no side wall and a “river” running next to it. If you don’t hit the ball just right, you can lose it instantly in the water which cascades down into a pond.
